Hysteroscopy is the clinical examination of the uterine cavity by endoscopy procedure with access through the cervix. It allows for the diagnosis of intrauterine pathology and serves as a method for surgical intervention (operative hysteroscopy). Its a minimal invasive procedure done by Gynaecologists.

Various instruments have been used to carry out Hysteroscopic procedure :

1. Diagnostic Hysteroscopy Sheath:-

Diagnostic hysteroscopy is used for clinical evaluation of the uterus. Diagnostic hysteroscopy is also used to confirm results of other tests, such as hysterosalpingography (HSG). HSG is an X-ray dye test used to check the uterus and fallopian tubes. Diagnostic hysteroscopy can often be done in an office setting.

2. Operative Hysteroscopy Sheath:-

Hysteroscopy is a procedure that allows Gynaecologist to look inside patient’s uterus in order to diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding. Hysteroscopy is done using a hysteroscope, a thin, lighted tube that is inserted into the vagina to examine the cervix and inside of the uterus. An operative hysteroscopy can be used to remove polyps, fibroids and adhesions.
